How does it work?
Just click on the little calendar above to open the interactive calendar. Any date with an event or a holiday will be bright yellow. Click on the date (number) to read the description and details about events on that date. You can view the calendar in several formats - day, week, month, year, or printable page. You can also convert the calendar to Spanish by clicking on the little Spanish flag at the bottom. Unfortunately, this feature cannot translate the event descriptions into Spanish.

Can I add events?
Anyone can submit an event to be posted on the calendar. Just click the "Add" button at the center top or bottom of the calendar. Don't forget to include the event location, contact information or a link to more detailed information in the main description area. Website addresses and email addresses entered in the description area will automatically convert to links when the event is posted. When you click the "Submit Item" button, your event will be submitted for approval. Yes, it does have to be approved before you will see it in the calendar, but that shouldn't take more than a day or two.

What kinds of events are included?
Let's see now… We are happy to include:

  1. Free and low-cost events for individuals and families. This would include Job Fairs, Resource Fairs, Energy Fairs, Library storytime activities, free meals for the holidays, etc.
  2. Free and low-cost trainings for individuals and families, such as parenting classes, Ready-to-Rent classes, ESL classes, etc.
  3. Free and low-cost trainings or networking opportunities for Washington County social service providers.
But… We won't be including:
  1. Any agency fund-raising events.
  2. Any political activist events. (Part of this agency's funding comes from the government and they get kind of cranky if we post anything resembling a political position on our website.)
  3. Any commercial (for-profit) events.

Comments, questions, feedback?
We'd like to know if this calendar is useful to you. Or maybe you have a question about how something works. Maybe you need to make a correction to an event you already posted. Please drop us a note at findcontact@caowash.org
