City of Beaverton Solid Waste & Recycling Reduced Rate Program and City of Beaverton Water assistance


Solid Waste & Recycling Reduced Rate program: Income-qualified customers may be eligible for reduced garbage & recycling collection rates if they meet the following conditions: 

Live in the City of Beaverton, Oregon

Reside in a single-family residence, a duplex, a triplex, or a quadplex

Directly pay for garbage & recycling collection service through one of the partnered garbage and recycling companies.

At or below 185% Federal poverty level or enrolled in assistance programs listed below.

Qualified customers enrolled in a rate reduction program will receive a 75% reduction in their monthly collection rate, and the program approval period is 24 months.

The discounted rate will be applied to the next full billing cycle following program approval.  Based on bi-monthly billing, it may take up to 75 days before the discount is reflected on your bill. Credits are not issued retroactively, and applicants are responsible for past-due balances. Additional services and charges do not qualify for the reduced rate program. If the applicant moves or closes their account, a new application will be required to restart the program discount.

City of Beaverton water discount program:

The City of Beaverton water utility assistance program is for the City of Beaverton customers who are income-qualified to receive emergency financial assistance towards utility billing for water, sewer, and surface water management. Qualified utility customers can receive assistance on their utility bills within a 12-month period. If you are:

City of Beaverton customers who need help paying a current or past-due bill and are you are listed on the utility bill.

Have not defaulted on a prior payment plan within the last 12 months.

Do not have a past-due account sent to debt collections.

Ways to Qualify:

You can demonstrate income eligibility in either way below:

Demonstrate current enrollment in one of the following programs by providing documentation of enrollment dated within 12 months of the date of this application

Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP)

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Women Infants and Children (WIC)

Free & Reduced Lunch

Housing and Urban Development Assistance (HUD)

Medicaid (OHP)

OR City of Beaverton utility billing customers who are at or below the 60% of Oregon Medium income for the past 60 days. or City of Beaverton Solid Waste and Recycling customers who are at or below 185% of the federal poverty limit for the past 60 days.
